Hey everyone! I hope you´re week was as eventful as ours was this week! HAHAHA So some awesome things happened back home in the good ´ole USA so I just want to give a S/O to Dad for his BDAY, Mom and Dad for their 35th wedding anniversay, and Zander for his 8th BDAY! I truly love this area of Ysapy! We have been able to see some fruits of being able to work with the members with references and we´re seeing more signs of where we should focus more of our time as we are choosing which sectors to work in! We were able to find just some amazing new people to teach named Maria and Diego! We happened to start exploring an area that I had never really worked in before and as we felt inspired to contact a home we come to realize that Mathias (one of my converts) had given Diego a folleto of the restoration and had talked with him a little about the church! Mathias is such a sweet kid and it was honestly just so special to see how we all can spread the gospel if we just are not afraid to open our mouths and share! We also have been looked after especially this week while my companion has been having a lot of stomach pains. Members have been very thoughtful and even brought down Sunday lunch! It was very tender!
OKAY Now let´s talk about the craziness that has been happening this week! It´s always so much fun to be with a new missionary in the field because they are just learning and growing and seeing paraguay and all of it´s perks for the first time and it´s just like a kodak moment all of the time! Hna Stubbs and I were talking on Tuesday night about just some things about Paraguay and Guarani and then she was like.... I DON´T UNDERSTAND WHY EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHERS NAME THEIR CAT MICHE HERE!!!???!!! ..... Dear sweet sister Stubbs didn´t realize that Miche is the guarani word for cat.... HAHAHAHA WE LAUGHED SOOOOOOOO HARD THAT NIGHT! It´s truly just so fun learning new languages and I just think guarani is the funniest!
On Wednesday Hermana Stubbs and I learned just a few things: 1st we are NOT fans of Corned Beef (It didn´t hit the spot and we were left with upset stomaches :( ) AND we were supposed to have a lesson with one of our investigators named Ceferino afterwards (He just has the biggest past that i´ve ever heard of and I´m like always just having a prayer in my heart when we go visit him because sometimes it´s a little sketchy) but then he called us and asked us not to come by because some of his prison friends were visiting and it was noooooooot the ideal setting for us to visit ... So Ceferino actually came in clutch and saved us!
We had a good district council on Thursday and were able to get some good weekly planning and ended up teaching a little segment during Noche de Barrio and it was just a 10/10 day celebrated with some good ol Amandau ice cream to celebrate Hna Stubbs´s 3 month mark in the mission!
Friday is where everything started to take a tumble. We had a good morning getting able to talk with some investigators and teach some fantastic people and then as we were finish the day Hna Stubbs started feeling a little wonky. We ate dinner and then her pain just continued to increase and was just not a fun time :(
Saturday and Sunday we spent working on things at home (we went to church of course) because poor thing just has been feeling so terrible :( We´re going to head to the dr office today so please keep her in your prayers! Compañerismo Hermana Stubbs is just such an amazing person! I have loved being able to work with her this past week and learn together! She is always just so determined to learn and grown and I love how she is not afraid to ask questions so that she can understand things and get better! It never ceases to surprise me how fast she learns also! I feel like this week she´s been a little bit down in regards to her health with us not being able to go out and work the past two days due to the extremities of her stomach pains. We´ve been trying to use that time to update the area book and look through old registros to find more people to teach. From talking with her family last Monday it truly seems like they can see such a difference if her wellbeing from the past transfer and that makes me smile that she is doing better! I have just loved being able to focus more on repentance and the atonement this week. I read through President Dallin H. Oak´s conference talk from this past April and was just very grateful to read through some of his insight about the power and impact of repentance. Something that has been so beautiful to me is that we have the chance to participate in the Sacrament every single week to renew our covenants. This week with Come Follow Me I loved how we focuses on the body of Christ and how even though taking the sacrament is a personal thing, we all do it together and that binds us together as children of our Heavenly Father! I LOVED THAT! It´s truly such a beautiful thing to recognize the tender mercies that we have every single day! I am truly grateful to learn and grow each and everyday as I try to apply more the atonement of Jesus Christ in my daily life. Just know that I love you all sooooooooo much and hope that you continue to find love and joy every single day as you learn from the scriptures! When we take the time to study it our in our minds and then ask Heavenly Father for help and guidance, we find peace!
ROHAYHUUUUUU,
