Hola mis amigos,
I hope that your week was pretty fantastic because mine was GREAT! I just am so grateful to be here in Paraguay and continue to witness miracles every single day!
On Tuesday I tried Carambola (a fruit that looks like a star when you cut it into slices) and it was super good!!!!!!!!!!!! Paraguay is just sooo cool because there are so many fruits and veggies just all over the country that there is always something new to try! Haha We also went on a team-up with a ward missionary (a youth that is has a calling in church to go on team-ups with the missionaries) and we were able to explore a new part of our area! I also got to take a picture of her rabbit! The rabbits here in Paraguay are MASSIVE and I just couldn´t miss the opportunity for the picture.
We taught one of our investigators Hector and his friend Alberto this week and had to take a picture together before Alberto went to Argentina to visit some family. However, we didn´t realize that Hector was making this face in the picture... Hahaha did somebody say snake??
We had interviews this week so I was able to get to know my new mission president better! It´s just really interesting to see how change helps us to grow and progress! President Millett is a great man and he was able to help me find some more ways to continue learn and grow so that I can become better each day! We also figured out that his dad could have been in the Dominican Republic serving as a mission president when my mom lived there! Neat right?! I also received my package that day! :)
We´ve been teaching Josue, Mathias, and Marcelo Romero for a while now and they have their baptismal date for this Saturday July 27th! We are so excited for it and just have loved to see their progress and desires to come closer to Christ! What a neat moment it truly is to see how accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ in your life can change everything and help you become happier! I´ve definitely seen that a ton in my life :) On Sunday I had the opportunity to sing a special musical number in the sacrament meeting while Janina (a youth in our ward) played the violin! It was so cool :) This week my personal study has been really awesome! I´ve been able to receive a lot of answers to prayers and just see how Heavenly Father´s hand is always in our everyday lives! I had the chance of studying in the book of Alma chapters 35-42 and have just LOVED my study! I love reading about the counsels that Alma gives to his 3 sons. They are all have different needs, thus there are different chapters for the sons. One of my favorite scriptures is Alma 36:3 which reads, ¨Y ahora bien, ¡oh mi hijo Helamán!, he aquí, estás en tu juventud, y te suplico, por tanto, que escuches mis palabras y aprendas de mí; porque sé que quienes pongan su confianza en Dios serán sostenidos en sus atribulaciones, y sus dificultades y aflicciones, y serán benaltecidos en el postrer día.¨ I love how Alma truly feels such a strong love for his children, and it makes me think about the love that Heavenly Father feels for His children. What a privillege we have to be HERE IN PARAGUAY! I have felt the love that Heavenly Father has for His children here in Ysapy and it just warms my heart! I challenge you all to find more ways of how Heavenly Father is blessing your lives each day! I promise that if you apply the scriptures more in your lives you will find answers to questions and more peace! ROHAYHU, Hermana Mendoza
