ey everyone!
I hope that you are all doing well! I am SOOOOOOOOOO Happy to let you all know about what a fabulous week I had! For those of you who do not know, every six weeks we have transfers which means that we either stay in the area that we are in, or we leave the area or vice versa for our companion or we both stay. I was transferred out of my last area Campo Grande after being there for 4 and a half months and now I am serving in the YSAPY area! and let me just say it has been soooooo cool!
I am now in the Capiatá zone which is outside of the capital Asuncion, which I spent a total of 6 transferes, and it is so cool! Such a difference from being in the center of Asuncion for quite a while! Here there are still some collectivos (busses) but there are also a ton of dirt roads and roads filled with tiny and not annoying rocks throughout the street, but all in all it makes for some good exercise!
My companion is named Hermana Torres! She is so cool and is from Perú but has lived in Venezuela practically her whole life! She is training me on how to be an Hermana Leader and it has been so fun to learn together and explore our area! She has only 2 changes left in her mission so I am learning just so much from her!
This week was pretty fun to be in this area because as we were celebrating easter in Paraguay the tradition is to give out a ton of Chipa, this like traditional bread type thing with paraguayan cheese and what not. I actually don't know really how to describe it, but every house you go to the people will want you to try their chipa and let you know which one is the best! Let's just say that we had one really good one, and the rest weren't so good hahahah!
Here the people are outside of Asuncion and that means that there is a whole lot more of Guarani spoken here! Haha I really don't speak much at all, but I am truly excited to learn more and be able to connect to the people on a whole other level!
The work here is great and I just love getting to talk with all of the people here as they just have the desire to learn more about Jesus Christ!
WHAT A BLESSING IT IS!!!!!!!!!
During my personal study I tried to focus on studying the Atonement, seeing that this past week we were able to celebrate Easter and remember just how blessed we are to have the Savior in our lives. My heart has been just filled with gratitude for the ability that I have to be here and share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the people of this great place! I have not only felt the love that my Heavenly Father has for me, but also for every single person that I am serving. He loved us so He sent His Son. What a beautiful blessing it has been!
I love you all so much and just want you to remember the importance of reading the scriptures every single day! It really makes the difference and I am just so touched to have the chance of talking to people about what makes me most happy!
