HELLO WORLD!
Yes that's right, you are hearing from the one and only Hermana Mendoza (that I know of lol) all the way from my new area of VILLA HAYES! I´m now in the Limpio Zone and technically at the entrada to the Chaco! VIlla Hayes is basically the most lejos area you can go to without being considered actually lejos in the mission! Villa Hayes is super different from Loma with the
fact that Loma is in the city and Villa Hayes isn´t LOL! I had a feeling that I wouldn´t stay in Asuncion for much longer when I changes came around, but I am soooooo sooooooo glad to be here in my new area! There is a lot more land and cows in this area and because it´s kinda campoish (field and lots of land) there aren´t very many collectivos that pass by, sooooo we do a TON of walking! LOL and I am SO BLACK it´s not even funny! I just found the sunscreen that my momma packed for me so I´m just now realizing what a blessing it truly is to have it! HAHAHAHA
Okay so now about what happened this week! On Wednesday it was Halloween and though my new companion Hermana Wall (from Michigan and on her 11th change in the mission! She´s so awesome and I´m so glad that we're comps!) and I bought some Halloween candy dressed in black and orange and then went REVERSE trick or treating and gave out candy and folletos to the people that we contacted and some of the investigators that we were teaching! It was SO MUCH FUN! Hahaha we honestly thought that it was just a fun way to celebrate a little of halloween and also find some more new people to teach!
Oh and now talking about some of the investigators that we have! I am so blessed to have been transferred to Villa Hayes because Hermana Wall and her last comp really did a great job of having a great teaching pool and progressing investigators! This are used to be an elders area, but they pinkwashed it (bringing new hermanas into an area where there were either elders or hermanas but none of the origional stayed) and were able to find some great people! We area teaching a couple named Elvira and Alberto and it was really cool because Elvira ended up coming to church even though Alberto didn´t come. Apparently earlier on Alberto was the only one who was interested in the church, but then little by little Elvira started listening and now has just such a strong testimony herself that she was able to go to church without her partner.
I was reading in 2nd Nephi 28 this week and was really hit by verse 30 which talks about how we learn line upon line and precept upon precept! I know this to be true and really testify of it! I know that this can be applied to any kind of learning and that we just have to be ready to work! I also know that the Book of Mormon was truly written for our day and that it is able to give us help and guidance each day!
I love you all so much and hope that you had a spooky Halloween and great week!
Rohayhu,
Hermana Mendoza
