WOWOWOW what a week it has truly been! It all starts out when I woke up Monday morning to go to the bathroom and saw that the gas on our oven was left on, but DON'T WORRY MOM we didn't die and the gas ran out! We then ended up going to Shopping del Sol which literaly is like a replica of an American Mall and I'll just tell you that I was SHOOK and honestly had a strange time trying to adjust to it hahaha. I did get to shop at Forever 21 though so that was pretty cool! We then were going to take a collectivo back to Loma Pyta and then ended up takingn a wrong one and went far into the other mission by accident and took a taxi home. LOL it was such a crazy day!
This week we also saw a lot of really really beautiful sunsets and it just reminded me how much love our Heavenly Father has for us and that the world is truly such a manifestation of the power of God.
This past week we had some really cool experiences here in Loma. We have been working with the Vargas Family since the beginning of this transfer and they are super purete! The only thing was that the husband of the family was more focused on his own knowledge than accepting or trying to pray to find out an answer. BUT our lesson with them was LITERALLY amazing!!!! They kept their commitments and read in the Book of Mormon in Alma 7:11-14 and were truly happy and excited about what they read. I truly know that God is blessing us and that there are always opportunities to teach with the Spirit when we are prepared!
TODAY was an AMAZING DAY AND I HAD THE AMAZING OPPORTUNITY OF MEETING THE PROPHET RUSSELL M. NELSON, ELDER GARY E. STEVENSON, and their WIVES! They gave an AMAZING devotional for all of the missionaries in Paraguay and I'd just like to share a few of my insights:
1.Goals lead us to receiving/accomplishing the desires of our hearts
2.Everything that we need is here to expand the church (temple, church buildings, missionaries, personal revelation, etc)
3. We need to thnk of what is in our Spiritual Tool Box
4. The people in the Americas are the posterity of Lehi and Sariah
5.Hermana Nelson extended a 30 challenge to us! We are to pray on our knees and ask any of the quesitons of our heart to Heavenly Father and if we just open in the scriptures we will have 30 days to find the answer to our prayers, but we will most likely receive the answer to our prayers earlier than 30 days. It is so true because the scriptures are written for us in our day!
6. The Savior is the editor of our lives and through the Atonement we can become made new
7. The Book of Mormon is the word of God and we should reflect to President Nelson's several lists of what the Book of Mormon does
8. We have a living Prophet who truly loves us and the Lord so much
There were several more things that happened and took place and I am just truly grateful to have the opportunity to be a missionary of the restored church in these days. I know that We can truly find happiness through the gosepl of Jesus Christ and am grateful for the Plan our Heavenly Father has for us!
